Tales From My Appendix

Most of you know already that I got appendicitis and had to have my appendix out on Monday/Tuesday.  So no show this weekend in Illinois.  We're sad about that.  I've learned a few things about myself during this time.

1.  I have a high pain tolerance and an inability to admit that I'm in pain when it's bad.  When I'm extremely nauseous and shaking uncontrollably, that's a sign that I'm in pain.  Somehow, the constant cramp feeling didn't merit my attention as much as my other symptoms of being in pain.
2.  Appendicitis is worse than childbirth (until the painkillers kick in).
3.  I have a low resistance to narcotics. Very low.  I'm a lightweight.

In other news, I'm recovering at grandma's house in North Carolina until next weekend.  So far, the healing is going well.  I'm off narcotics but taking Tylenol.  The incisions are healing well.

Have you ever seen an appendectomy on youtube?  Crazy!

I hope to post some updates from the last few weeks while I have internet here.  I'll start with an update on our Foraging Journal....  keep checking the blog.
